Fire !!!!!

The second event of the day came from our engineering team Hassan and Karim, who took the time to demonstration the fascinating changes methanol makes when exposed to different chemicals. Thank you to TMA for providing us this auditorium !!!!!

Chemiluminescence

NileRed’s amazing luminol demonstration inspired this wonderful activity. Thanks to the wondrous team of Formula Futures, we were able to continue inspiring students to ask questions and share a sense of fascination with the world!

SLIMEEEE !!!

Who doesn’t love slime? We love fluffy slime, glittery slime, unicorn slime, food slime, the works. Unfortunately our budget only called for some awesome fluffy slime but it was still so much fun!

10.20.25

KEEP BLOWING !!

Racecars are awesome! But because we don’t have 5 million dollars lying around for ONE car, we’ve settled for some awesome balloon powered cars!

10.16.25

5 Big Booms

Hydrogen peroxide isn’t only good for elephant’s (or dev*l’s toothpaste) toothpaste. Check out this awesome exothermic reaction using hydrogen peroxide and manganese dioxide !!

10.14.25

Snow in Socal

After multiple days of extracting sodium polyacrylate from diapers, we FINALLY have our fake snow. This is featured in our magic box, one of our most popular event.

10.12.25

Flames?

Paying homage to our first event, we decided to brush off the dust on this box. We love colors, and we love seeing stuff light on fire. This wonderful lesson(heavily inspired by Cars), was another huge success.

10.10.25

SAVE EGGBERT!

Here we see an example of our favorite space explorer, Eggbert, crashing back down on earth. This wonderful box was put together by one of our student teachers, Karim.

I needed that bucket… But worth it!

Follow up photos from same event!

I needed that bucket…

I was hoping to use the bucket for our next experiment, but it’s a okay! Science is about adapting, and the amazing fun everyone had showed it was ALL worth it.

10.7.25

Three States of Matter

What’s more interesting than learning about the matter that creates us. Solid Liquid Gas. It was awesome seeing the participation and the hard hitting questions like what pH is and why the sun is yellow. Thank you all for inspiring us further!

10.3.25

Interesting Photo…

I don’t even know where to begin…elephant’s toothpaste is fun but not THAT fun… Thank you for the amazing photo-op though !

09.30.25

DIY TIME!!

Science is better when things go wrong!! Here two students are struggling to make their own DIY rocket and need the help of our wonderful Cofounder Srinath, whose giving them a helping hand !

09.25.25

Science Is Amazing

The amazing part about science is the discussions, the cooperation, the debates. When asked a stumping question, students shouldn’t simply shy away from the fear but embrace the unknown, and it’s incredibly rewarding seeing students come together and try and solve the mysteries of the world.

09.23.25

How Do We Clean This Up…

We did NOT expect it to be so big, and now we got NO clue how to clean this up… Elephant’s toothpaste is a thing of the past now we got devil’s toothpaste !! (Thank you Mark Rober)

09.18.25

How Did We Get Here?

Rockets are fun, but they’re even more fun when they shoot higher than anyone expected. With just water and a bike pump, we were able to shoot a rocket clear over school grounds, it’s a miracle we got this shot with how fast it went into the sky !

08.28.25

All 5 Senses

Yeast does NOT smell good, but that does not stop students from trying. Here we have a young scientist regret not wafting instead of diving his nose in immediately. He does NOT look happy, but this is a lesson he will never forget!

08.27.25

Baby Steps

Here we have two amazing volunteers excitedly presenting a presentation using one of our handy kits, this time on elephant’s toothpaste! Science is best enjoyed when experienced by everyone and this demonstration has been a crowd favorite from the students.

08.25.25

DON’T DROP IT!!

After buying supplies for countless boxes, eggs might be the most expensive ingredient. I’m only half kidding. Egg drops were an integral part of my high school career, and it didn’t seem fair to reserve for the older people. In the Socal Summer, everyone had a blast!

08.22.25

Uh Oh

One of the most important parts about science is trying new things. Here, we see a student learn about propulsion and gases through hands-on activities, about to let a rocket launch out of his hands and shoot into the sky. Big thank you to Tustin Memorial Academy for enabling this awesome event!

05.23.25

Molecular Formulas!

Teaching 3rd – 4th graders the amazing world of chemistry through elephant’s toothpaste! This is a super cool reaction involving the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, which can be found in almost every local store. The kids loved seeing the reaction bubble up, and here we are demonstrating the chemistry behind this reaction!

  • First Event: Fire!!

    First Event: Fire!!

This past week, we had the privilege of bringing a little chemistry magic to the students at Peters Canyon Elementary. With the guidance of Mrs. Morgan and the support of the school staff, we hosted a hands-on science demonstration focused on one of the most visually captivating experiments: flame tests.

The highlight of the day was the way the students leaned in, asked questions, and began to see chemistry not as a subject, but as a way to understand the world around them.

A special and heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Morgan for making this experience possible. Her openness to creative learning opportunities and her commitment to enriching her students’ understanding is what made this event more than just an experiment—it made it a memory.

To the students at Peters Canyon: keep asking questions, keep being amazed, and never stop exploring. Science is full of wonder, and this was just one spark of it.

  • First Success

    First Success

Our first Formula Futures meeting was a great success, with a fantastic turnout that exceeded our expectations. We introduced our dedicated board members, shared our vision for the organization, and offered a sneak peek of the exciting projects and events planned for the coming semester. We’re grateful for everyone’s support and enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to keep the momentum going when we reconvene next semester. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you again for being a part of this journey!

  • Baby Steps

    Baby Steps

Our high school F1 club meets for the very first time on November 11, 2023 in Ms. Shekarchi’s classroom, and the excitement in the air is palpable. We gather around a projector that streams the latest Grand Prix footage, analyzing every corner and chicane. A few of us already have favorite teams—waving their caps or wearing the colors with pride—while others are watching F1 for the very first time.

During these meetings, we immerse ourselves in the thrill of competitive racing. We discuss the dramas unfolding on the track, debate tire strategies, and compare driver lineups. Each clip we watch sparks a fresh round of conversation—sometimes serious, sometimes playful—yet always grounded in our shared love of motorsport.

Ms. Shekarchi’s room feels like a mini grandstand. Students from different grades, and with varying levels of F1 knowledge, come together to celebrate the world’s fastest sport. By the end of each session, it’s clear that the roar of engines and the energy of last-lap battles unite us in a way no other lunchtime activity can.

As we look forward to future meetings, our hope is simple: to create a space where anyone—even the newest fan—can learn, laugh, and connect over the astonishing spectacle that is Formula 1. Whether you’re cheering on a top team or just curious about the buzz, you’re welcome to join the conversation. Together, we keep the spirit of racing alive in our little corner of campus.
